The Destruction Scroll (Japanese: ぜんめつの巻物) is a scroll in Nintendo DS Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer. Reading a Destruction Scroll will defeat all Monsters in the current room and give you all the experience together.

Destruction Scrolls cannot be found in dungeons, sold in Shops or obtained from a Jar of Change.

It also needs to be unlocked before you're allowed to write it to a Blank Scroll.

Unlocking the Destruction Scroll

Because Destruction Scrolls cannot be found, purchased or created from a Jar of Change, instead, finding one to read so that the name can be written onto a Blank Scroll is virtually impossible.

Instead, the ability to obtain one using a Blank Scroll can be unlocked by completing a certain task:

You must complete Table Mountain without:

When you succeed at this task, the game will not give you any indication. You can test it out by writing 'Destruction' on a Blank Scroll.

Tips For Use

  • When you suddenly find yourself in a Monster House of any size, the Scroll will instantly defeat all enemies in the room. Use it in the first turn to avoid any dangerous encounters.

Quotes

After completing Table Mountain, the Vagabond standing on the cliff in Mountaintop Town hints at how to unlock the Destruction Scroll.

Vagabond:
I want to see the Golden City
for myself.
Vagabond:
And I'll do it without using the
storehouse, too!

Trivia

  • The Sanctuary Scroll and the Destruction Scroll are the only Scrolls that require a task to be completed to unlock creating them.
  • Within the confines of normal gameplay, it should be impossible to obtain a genuine 'Destruction Scroll' and not a 'Blank:Destruction Scroll'.
  • When a 'Blank:Destruction Scroll' is sent as a Rescue item to a wanderer who has not met the requirements for unlocking the scroll, the item sent to that player will be a Blank Scroll.
