Shiren 1 DS:Critical Armband
With a Critical Armband equipped, Shiren's attacks have a [Data needed]~34% chance of being Critical Hits, which will deal approximately double the amount of normal damage, but the rate of current Fullness decrease will be doubled. Without any other fullness impacting items, the Critical Armband will increase Shiren's current fullness will decrease by 1 point every 5 turns, instead of the normal 10. The effect of an Critical Armband is included in several "rescue reward" armbands: the Ace's Armband, and the Berserk Armband. The effect of this armband also persists in towns, but not while Shiren is a monster, or inflicted with the 'Riceball' status.
Minotaur's Axe Combination[edit | edit source]
The critical hit rate of the Critical Armband can be combined with that of a Minotaur Axe, and when used together, critical hits have shown to occur 60% of the time when attacks do hit. This is consistent with samples collected from both items individually, and used together, which were ~34% chance for a Critical Armband and ~26% chance for a Minotaur's Axe.
Without a (hit) seal, attacks have shown to hit ~80% of the time. An attack that does not miss has a ~60% chance of being a critical hit, therefore every time that that Shiren attempts to attack an entity, there is a ~48% chance of dealing a critical hit.
Kigny Axe Combination[edit | edit source]
It is unknown what effect the Critical Armband has with the critical hit rate of a Kigny Axe. Further testing is needed into the interaction of these items so this page can be updated with correct information.
Tips for use[edit | edit source]
- Equip this armband only during combat to make use of potential critical hits, while minimizing the impact of increased fullness decrease.
- A Shield with a (hide) Seal from a Hide Shield will cancel out the increased fullness decrease, and Shiren will lose 1 point every 10 turns, as if unaffected.
Things to Avoid[edit | edit source]
- Equipping a Critical Armband as well as a shield with a (heavy) seal from a Armor Ward will quadruple Shiren's fullness decrease, down to 1 point each 2, then 3 turns alternating.
- The 'Ever-full' from a Special Riceball status can negate the additional fullness decrease, causing no negative effects of wearing the Critical Armband for one floor.
