Shiren 1 DS:Ceremonial Cave
Ceremonial Cave
儀式の洞窟
The Ceremonial Cave (Japanese: 儀式の洞窟) is a bonus dungeon unlocked after finishing Table Mountain. An unfortunate side effect of unlocking this dungeon is no longer being able to use the Inn in Cryptic Rock Valley as all the Characters get kidnapped before unlocking it.
Gaining Access
To gain access to the Ceremonial Cave you must meet the following conditions.
- Clear Table Mountain. (All 30 floors and defeat the Tainted Insect).
- Bring the The Little Lost Girl (quest) (Surala), from the Old Mine at Mt.Nebri to her parents in Cryptic Rock Valley.
- Talk to the woman in the northwest house across 3 separate visits
- Talk to the suspicious man outside the woman's house.
- Talk to the courier at Canyon Hamlet.
- Return to Cryptic Rock Valley and talk to the Dog.
Unique Features
High level enemies will spawn from the start. The dungeon acts as a sort of Table Mountain 1.5 but isn't as difficult as the Tainted Path (a continuation of the main dungeon.) but offers a greater challenge than the main dungeon. It features leveled monsters and leveled Kigny and Inferno on every floor. Your allies can join you in this dungeon but they won't last long and only serve as monster bait to level up enemies. Unlike Table Mountain, your Warehouses items are no longer automatically identified. Only the items in your inventory (including in Jars) will be identified. The dungeon's loot consists mostly of random sword and shield drops and most common armbands. Including the occasional rare one like the Armband of Sight. With the Cell Armor family and the high chance to find weapons and shields, it's far easier to find rare melds like the Dragonkiller here than in Table Mountain.
Goal & Final Reward
The goal of this dungeon is to defeat the King of the Kigny and free the villagers of Cryptic Rock Valley. Once you clear the dungeon by defeating the King of the Kigny, all the villagers will return to Cryptic Rock Valley and you will be able to use the storage space and Inn again.
The main appeal of this dungeon and the only real reason to clear it once you defeat the King of the Kigny are the Vaults. Like Table Mountain, this dungeon features Gitan Vaults hidden out of sight. But unique to this dungeon are the very rare Kigny Axe and Kigny Shield that can replace a bag of Gitan. To find them, you must bring a Pickaxe (or a sword with the dig ability) and either an Armband of Sight or exactly 29 Scrolls of Light, one for each floor. Gitan cache rooms are hidden rooms that you can't see from afar and you must use a Pickaxe to dig your way there. One of the Gitan bags in these rooms may randomly be replaced by the shield or axe. It's also suggested you bring meat of a family of monsters that can travel through walls and/or a Passage Armband due to rivers running through the dungeon, occasionally making rooms impossible to reach by digging.
Dungeon Strategy
Suggested Gear
- High level sword and shield:
- Mass - inflicting scrolls. Regular Monster Houses are common and great hall monsters houses occasionally appear as well.
- An Armband of Sight as well as a weapon with the unbreakable pickaxe meld is suggested to reach the Gitan vaults. A Trap Armband is also suggested for these floors specifically as a pitfall trap can ruin any chances of even reaching the room.
- Monster Meat of enemies that can travel through walls. It's rare but occasionally you won't be able to dig to a Gitan vault and the Kigny weapons are hard enough to get as it is.
Starting on floor 10, the regular dungeon floors are changed to marsh floors. The same ones seen on Table Mountain from Floors 15 to 16 and lasts until floor 12.

Strategy
The boss is the King of the Kigny and his minions, including a bonfire that spits out an infinite amount of very high-level Inferno. These guys can all take a beating even from a very strong sword. Bring many Scroll of Confusion or Scroll of Sleep, and a Staff of Paralysis for the King (as he's a coward and will run away from you). Try to end the fight as quickly as possible, as the Infernos will not stop spawning until you hit the bonfire twice. Ignore everybody, confuse/sleep them and run for the King.
