The Great Hall Scroll (Japanese: 大部屋の巻物) is a scroll in Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer.

Reading this scroll will turn the floor of any inside mine or cave into one big room 56 x 32 spaces large, therefore removing all walls and water. Items, Traps, Monsters, and the stairs are not affected.

If reading a Great Hall Scroll in an outside area, (forests, marshes, cliffs) it will not work and the player will be greeted with the following message:

If the floor contains a Shop, the shop boundaries will extend over the entire floor, and the Shopkeeper will treat the stairs as the shop exit.

Tips For Use

Great Hall Scrolls are an easy way to retrieve the items from the small 2 x 2 "Item Islands" that appear in certain levels. Though these items may not be worth wasting such a semi-rare scroll.
If you are being attacked by a monster that is able to attack from anywhere within the floor, such as an Ark Dragon, Great Hall Scrolls can provide a quick way of locating the monster.
Using a Great Hall Scroll to transform the entire floor into a Shop, then using a Switching Staff on the Shopkeeper from a distance is an extremely effective thieving strategy.
