The Gold Shield (Japanese: 金の盾) is a Shield introduced in the Nintendo DS port of Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer. It bears the File:Shiren 1 DS - Shield Seal Gold.png (Gold) Seal which protects your shield from being rusted by Rust-Type Monsters or Rusty Traps.
Gold Shields cannot lose their inherent gold seal, and therefore can never rust, however, gold-plated weapons and shields can still be rusted by level 3 and 4 Green Slime Family Monsters, who will remove the gold seal first before rusting the equipment.
Tips For Use
- Keep a collection of Gold Shields and Golden Blades to sell to Shops, then steal back to quickly accumulate some Gitan.
- Combine a shield with a Golden Blade in a Melding Jar to add the File:Shiren 1 DS - Shield Seal Gold.png seal to the shield. A cheaper alternative is to use a Plating Scroll to add the File:Shiren 1 DS - Weapon Seal Gold.png/File:Shiren 1 DS - Shield Seal Gold.png to equipped Weapons and Shields.
