Floor types are a defining characterstic of a floor or area in the Mystery Dungeon games.

  • Arranged floors are generated by arranging bigger pre-made areas together.
  • Fixed floors always look the same and are always found at the same floor number.
    • Gridless floors are a type of fixed floor where the grid doesn't appear until a fight starts.
  • Random floors are randomly generated and change every time they are entered.
  • Shuffle floors are pre-made floor layouts that are randomly used on a given floor number.
