The Knockback Staff (Japanese: ふき飛ばしの杖) is a Staff in Template:GameTitle.
When swung, it will fire a bolt that will knock its target, a Monster or Character, back a maximum of 10 spaces in the direction the bolt was traveling. When they stop moving they will take 5 fixed damage, or with hitting a wall or other entity.
If the target hits another entity, a Monster or a Character, they will also take 5 damage.
Entities can be knocked back and fly over water or chasms. If they are on one of these squares and are not a Floating-type Monster, they will take 5 damage be warped to a random location on the floor. Floating-type Monsters will also take 5 damage, but will not warp away.
Knockback Staves can be found with 5, 6, or 7 charges.
Tips For Use
- Because they are found with more charges than many other Staves, Knockback Staves can be used to displace dangerous monsters from Shiren, particularly inventory altering and Drain-type monsters, allowing you to save the charges of your more valuable staves for monsters with ranged attacks.
- With a Switching Staff, Knockback Staves can be used to reach 2 x 2 square item islands. Knocking back a monster the correct number of squares onto the island, then switching places with it.
