Broken Trap Recycling is a minor game mechanic in Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer. After opening the Scroll Cave bonus dungeon, Fay the Researcher at Canyon Hamlet will allow you to convert Broken Traps into useful items.
Broken Traps can be obtained by picking up Traps with the Trap Armband equipped, and upon returning to Canyon Hamlet (without dying), they will be all converted. Alternatively you can take the Trap Armband off and climb to another floor in a dungeon and the traps will turn into broken traps. Bottomless Jar broken in towns will generate Broken Traps.
Talk to Fay, and he will collect all Broken Traps not in jars and give you an item in return.
