The Scroll of Chains (Japanese: 連鎖の巻物) is a scroll introduced to theNintendo DS port of 
Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer.
The Scroll of Chains is exclusive to the Scroll Cave and Rescue Rewards from this dungeon, though can be created using a Blank Scroll after reading one.
Normally with a Trap Armband equipped, when Monsters step on Traps they gain an Experience multiplier value that will decrease for every square they step on that does not have a trap on it. Reading a Scroll of Chains in a room will cause every square in that room to become a 'trap chain space', and a monster's multiplier will not decrease when stepping on empty spaces in that room.

Reading a Scroll of Chains in a town or an outside dungeon will yield the following message:
| But nothing happened. Best to read this indoors. |
Reading the scroll in a hallway and not a room, even in an adequate dungeon, will yield a similar message, 'best to read in a dungeon'.
Tips For Use
- Reading a Scroll of Chains inside a Monster House can produce high XP rewards.
- Digging away the entire room's wall with a Pickaxe, or by consuming Soldier Ant Family Monster Meat can expand the room as well as the trap chain space. However, not completely digging away a wall will do nothing.
Things to Avoid
- Reading a Great Hall Scroll after reading a Scroll of Chains will remove all trap chain spaces from the floor.
