Cursed (Japanese: 呪い) items are a game mechanic in Etrian Mystery Dungeon. A cursed item cannot be used. A cursed equipment can be equipped but cannot be unequipped, and any forged effects it has will be nullified.
When an item is cursed, its icon is replaced by

Items can be cursed when found in Phantom Depths
How is it removed
Blessed Scroll, Armory Scroll, Guard Scroll and Gilding Scroll can remove curse, otherwise, once the party reach the town, every items will be uncursed.
How is it inflicted
- Cursed Shroom's Cursed Spores tries to curse an item in the player's inventory.
- Curse Locust's Cursed Kick tries to curse an item in the player's inventory.
- Curse Trap curses an item in the party's inventory.
- Curse Scroll curses the selected item.
