Katanas (Japanese: 刀) in Etrian Mystery Dungeon are items that can be equipped in the weapon slot by Dancers, Ninjas and Wanderers.

They increase attack, can have additional effects and some of them can be forged to add effect like stats increase or additional effect when hitting a monster. Normal attacks with Katanas inflict Cut Damage. To be forged, each Katanas requires a different amount of materials. In addition, Katanas can be enchanted to a maximum of +99, each enchantment increasing attack by 1.

Katanas can be bought at Chano Retail, at Red Lion Shoppe or found in dungeons. In order to be bought in Chano Retail, each Katana requires you to have sold different materials to Chano Retail. In addition to the materials, the Market District must be developed in order to unlock some Katanas. In the store at Chano Retail, Katanas are sorted depending on the attack.
