The Oni Boss (Japanese: 鬼親分) is a character in Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer series. He is the leader of the Oni of Onigashima, an island near Natane Village. He made his debut in  Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer 2 - Shiren's Castle and the Oni Invasion in (2000), making him part of the Third Batch of Monster Families.

The Oni Boss has made two cameo appearances in the Danganronpa series, the first in 2017, under the name Monokuma Boss.

Name Etymology

Oni are a type of traditional Japanese monster. Oyabun is a Japanese word that refers to a Yakuza boss.
