I'm not a skunk! I am a weasel.

Koppa (Japanese: コッパ) is a major side character for the Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer franchise.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Early Life[edit | edit source]

Koppa is Shiren's long time traveling companion. From a line of domesticated talking weasels, his talking brethren have become increasingly rare as the years pass by. He has spent time traveling with Shiren's childhood friend Asuka as well.[1]

Koppa can be seen in other media.

In Despair Dungeon: Monokuma's Test (Japanese: 絶望のダンジョン モノクマの試練, Dungeon of Despair: Monokuma's Trial), a Monokoppa appears as a boss monster. It is a fusion between Koppa and Monokuma.[2]

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Koppa is referred as a weasel, or a white weasel (白いイタチ) in Japanese releases of the series, on which the name is often attributed to ferrets for the latter. Due to this, English translations of the series refer Koppa either as a weasel like in the Nintendo DS remake of Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer, or as a ferret in the official English manual of Shiren the Wanderer 3: The Sleeping Princess of the Karakuri Mansion and the English translation of Shiren the Wanderer: The Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate.
    • In other games, he is also mistakenly compared with other species by many NPCs.
