Ranking Chief
(Japanese: 番付人) is a character in the Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer series. He made his debut appearance in Mystery Dungeon 2: Shiren the Wanderer in 1995.

The Ranking Chief doesn't have much of a personality, as his lines and role in his debut game is minimal.
History
Shiren 1
The Ranking Chief has a relatively minor role in Canyon Hamlet, updating the rankings boards with the score of people who challenge Table Mountain. He's the owner of Fay's Puzzle House, used by Fay the Researcher. In the Super Famicom release of Shiren 1, Fay says that the Ranking Chief lent him the back room and the inhabitants of Canon Hamlet decorated it for him. In the Nintendo DS remake, he's no longer present as a character, presumably due to the ranking being handled in the menus as opposed to directly in the Canyon Hamlet.
He's not present in BS Shiren the Wanderer: Save Surala either, though the rankings board remains the same and most of the inhabitants and buildings are removed or inaccessible.
