The Eighth Batch of Monster Families is an unofficial term applied to Monsters introduced in  Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer DS2 - Magic Castle of the Desert in 2008, which was the eleventh Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer series game and the seventh to introduce new monsters. It's the first monster batch to be entirely comprised of new levels, and not a single new monster family, save the one boss monster, JERO II Mamel, which was named after the Enka singer JERO.

New Levels

Ashigarudon Family

The Ashigarudon Family, consisting of:

1. Samuraidon (Japanese: サムライどん)
2. Taishodon (Japanese: タイショウどん)
3. Tonsamadon (Japanese: トノサマどん)
4. Daimyodon (Japanese: ダイミョウどん)

Daimyodon was added as a new level 4 monster. The other 3 levels were introduced as part of the Third Batch of Monster Families. The original level 1 monster was after  Shiren 2.

Bad Pickpocket Family

The Bad Pickpocket Family, consisting of:

1. Bad Pickpocket (Japanese: ワルガマラ)
2. Bad Thief (Japanese: ワルガマグッチ)
3. Bad Burglar (Japanese: ワルガマゴン)
4. Bad Kleptomaniac (Japanese: ワルガマドーン)

Bad Kleptomaniac was added as a new level 4 monster. The other 3 levels were introduced as part of the Fourth Batch of Monster Families.

Badwalrus Family

The Badwalrus Family, consisting of:

1. Badwalrus (Japanese: ワルっトド)
2. Gangwalrus (Japanese: ギャングっトド)
3. Fatherwalrus (Japanese: ゴットドファーザ)
4. Presidentwalrus (Japanese: プレジデンットド)

Presidentwalrus was added as a new level 4 monster. The other 3 levels were introduced as part of the Fourth Batch of Monster Families.

Bat Kangaroo Family

The Bat Kangaroo Family, consisting of:

1. Bat Kangaroo (Japanese: バットカンガルー)
2. Evil Kangaroo (Japanese: エビルカンガルー)
3. Devil Kangaroo (Japanese: デビルカンガルー)
4. Satan Kangaroo (Japanese: サタンカンガルー)

Blue Lanternfish Family

The Blue Lanternfish Family, consisting of:

1. Blue Lanternfish (Japanese: ちょうちんフグ)
2. Green Lanternfish (Japanese: あんどんフグ)
3. Orange Lanternfish (Japanese: かんてらフグ)
4. Grey Lanternfish (Japanese: らんたんフグ)

Grey Lanternfish was added as a new level 4 monster. The other 3 levels were introduced as part of the Second Batch of Monster Families.

The Crow Tengu Family, consisting of:

1. Crow Tengu (Japanese: カラス天狗)
2. Falcon Tengu (Japanese: ハヤブサ天狗)
3. Eagle Tengu (Japanese: イヌワシ天狗)
4. Phoenix Tengu (Japanese: ホウオウ天狗)

The Dark Baldness Family, consisting of:

The Dozing Hsien Family, consisting of:
