Personality

History

Shiren 1

Borg Mamel makes its first appearance in Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer Nintendo DS. After successfully clearing all 99 floors of the dungeon Fay's Final Puzzle, Shiren ends up at the Other Side of the World, a place where humans and monsters, in that case Antipode Mamels, coexist in peace. When Shiren talks to the white Mamel on the north side of the room to finds out that it is a bored Borg Mamel. The Borg Mamel acknowledges that Shiren is indeed a strong wanderer and asks to join him. If recruited, at the beginning of each adventure, the Borg Mamel will be sitting in Canyon Hamlet and will join his party if Shiren talks to it. The Borg Mamel would return later in Shiren the Wanderer DS2 - Magic Castle of the Desert Nintendo DS and Nintendo DS Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer 4 - The Eye of God and the Devil's Navel.

The Borg Mamel starts out somewhat weaker than other party members, but if Shiren talks to it, it will tell you to throw a specific item at it. Do so, and it will level up. A number will be added to the Mamel's name to indicate its level. Throwing the wrong item at the Mamel will result in it saying so, which can get very annoying, especially if it is walking towards an arrow-shooting monster, as it will complain about the wrong item type for every arrow shot at it.
