Mystery Dungeon Franchise Wiki:Manual of Style (Account Creation)

Account Creation has been restricted on the MDFW for three primary reasons. The primary reason is to prevent scumbag spammers from creating dozens of accounts and pages to advertise their trash on the wiki. Due to the way MediaWiki handles deleted pages, even when they're deleted, the files are still in the database. If left unchecked, these dirtbags will spam the wiki with hundreds of pages to advertise their trash, and the MDFW is a proudly ad-free, community resource.

We've previously tried using specific "capta" phrases before, and they bypassed them easily, leading to further issues. Now, users who wish to register and edit should join the wiki's Discord server to request the account creation code. The second, and minor of the two reasons, is to discourage people from creating accounts just to create an account, and never edit the wiki in any way. While it's entirely understandable that some people may prefer to avoid Discord, as of now, it's the fastest and most reliable way for us editors to connect with one another, ask questions, provide feedback, and correct mistakes. Users who make the occasional edit are not required to be in the wiki Discord; however, it's preferable for regular editors to join, for the aforementioned reasons.

The user login and registration information has been removed from the primary wiki UI and moved to the sidebar due to it being useless to the vast majority of the users of the site.
