Shiren 1 DS:Cell Armor Family
The Cell Armor monster family (Japanese: セルアーマー系, Seru Arma Kei) in Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer consists of:
- Cell Armor (Japanese: セルアーマー, Seru Arma)
- Metal Armor (Japanese: クロムアーマー, Kuromu Arma)
- Steel Armor (Japanese: チタンアーマー, Chitan Arma)
- Alloy Armor (Japanese: メタルアーマー, Metaru Arma)
As Ghosts, Cell Armor Family Monsters do not possess a physical body, instead, they are comprised of a set of armor floating in the air, as if worn by an invisible figure. This armor is complete with a sallet helmet, a chest cuirass, forearm vambraces, and three skirt-like faulds. Upon the monster's shoulders are colored pauldrons and it wields an unknown sword on its right. This sword is unlike any in Shiren 1 but is similar to the sword carried by Mini Robber Family.
Monster Ability
Cell Armor Family Monsters can knock away Shiren's equipped items, Weapons, Shields and Armbands, flinging them a maximum of 10 squares away, or until they hit a wall or an entity. Equipped Arrows are not affected by these monsters.
- Level 1: Cell Armors can only knock away Shields.
- Level 2: Metal Armors can only knock away Weapons and shields.
- Level 3 and 4: Steel Armors and Alloy Armors can knock away Weapons, Shields and Armbands.
- If Shiren is equipping a Pitcher's Armband, items knocked away by a Cell Armor will fly away and be permanently lost.
- Knocked away items that hit entities and do not miss will deal damage and be lost forever.
- Damage dealt to other monsters by items knocked away are attributed to the Cell Armor Family Monster; they will level up if the item defeats its target.
Effect when Sealed
Cell Armor Family Monsters can no longer knock away equipped items when sealed.
Combat Strategy
Cell Armors will use their knocking away ability approximately 30% [Data needed] of the time.
The high attack of Cell Armors makes their ability even more dangerous. If a shield is knocked away, the player may not survive another attack, on the other hand, if a weapon or armband is knocked away, there is at least 1 turn for action, before the player may be in danger.
When fighting a Cell Armor with no other monsters around, it's best to defeat them as fast as possible, avoid standing adjacent to them by attacking from a distance, or disable their dangerous ability.
If there are other entities around, arrange Shiren so that if any equipment is knocked away, it will not fly into the entity and potentially be lost.
Meat Strategy
As a Cell Armor Family Monster, Shiren can use an ability to knock away a random Weapon, Shield, or Armband once from every monster. However, these items can potentially be disguised N'Duba Family.
- Cell Armor: Only Shields.
- Metal Armor: Weapons and shields.
- Steel and Alloy Armor: weapons, shields and armbands.
Unlike other monsters that do this, Pickpocket Family and Thiefwalruses, that are often blocked and cannot defeat monsters, Shiren can still attack while a Cell Armor, therefore cannot be blocked by monsters that have already been interacted with. This allows the player to easily farm shields and possibly weapons or armbands for the purpose of melding them in order to gain seals and/or bonuses.
Cell Armors have no abilities that aid in combat. It is not recommended to throw Monster Meat to transform other monsters, because of the Cell Armors dangerous ability. There are some qualities to consuming any monster meat in general:
- Eating any Monster Meat will increase current Fullness by 10 points, with the exception of Hen meat, which will increase current fullness by 100 points.
- As a monster, items in Shiren's inventory cannot be accessed and therefore items cannot be: equipped, unequipped, put down, thrown, eaten, dropped, Projectiles, inserted or removed from Jars and jars also cannot be pressed.
- However, Items and Gitan can still be stolen by Thief-Type monsters, items can still be Melding and Seals, become Cursed, be turned into Big Riceball, become Miscellaneous Items, be changed into Weeds or be knocked away.
- As a monster, Items in Shiren's inventory cannot be accessed and therefore items cannot be: equipped, unequipped, put down, thrown, eaten, dropped, fired, inserted, or removed from jars and jars also cannot be pressed.
- When transforming into a monster or reverting back to Shiren, all Status Conditions will be cured, however, some cannot be cured because due to the status, Shiren is not able to act in order to transform or revert.

- Cell Armor meat: Eat this to change into Cell Armor. Able to knock away a shield once for every 1 enemy.
- Metal Armor meat: Eat this to change into Metal Armor. Able to knock away a shield or weapon once for every 1 enemy.
- Steel Armor meat: Eat this to change into Steel Armor. Able to knock away a shield, weapon or armband once for every 1 enemy.
- Alloy Armor meat: Eat this to change into Alloy Armor. Able to knock away a shield, weapon or armband once for every 1 enemy.
