(Japanese: つぶゴロウ) is a traveling human turned Mudkip featured on the @Pokemon_cojp Twitter account as well as the official Japanese website for Nintendo 3DS Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon. He narrates his adventures and thoughts as he travels the Pokémon World. His name is a portmanteau of つぶやき, meaning Tweet, and ミズゴロウ, the Japanese name for Mudkip.

Physical Appearance

Tsubugorou has the appearance of a Mudkip. He wears a yellow scarf.

Personality

History

Tsubugorou used to be a human. When he became a Pokémon, he was initially nervous, but all the other Pokémon around him were kind, so he decided to travel the various villages and towns of the world. He felt touched by the attention he received online.

On June 19, 2015, he reached Serene Village, where he visited the local Kecleon Shop, the hill with the big tree, and the school, which reminds him of his childhood. He commented on each of the school children the staff of the school, and some of the inhabitants of the village and explains that, like Pancham, he used to pull pranks as a kid. He claims Watchog's personality seems to be the opposite of Principal Simipour's. He is curious about Budew and Hawlucha's Slam School. He initially didn't have the courage to go inside the Café Connection because he feared it was too fashionable for him, but eventually went in.

On August 16, 2015, he left Serene Village and headed towards Lively Town. He commented on the Expedition Society and its members. He would like to join them someday. While adventuring in a dungeon he was happy to find a Big Apple, and he ate it. He wonders how the children of Serene Village are doing since he left, and he asks readers to check on them if they happen to visit the village.

After becoming a Pokémon, Tsubugorou started liking rainy days, which he supposed might be related to him being a Water-type. He commented that he would like to meet a legendary or mythical Pokémon. He likes Mega Evolution. Because he is a traveler, every day feels like a summer vacation to him.

Tsubugorou talked about the Connection Orb and compared it to Twitter. When he was a human, he liked to play with a toy water gun, but now that he's a Pokémon, he can use the move Water Gun. He enjoys being a Pokémon. Apples are his favorite food. He likes to use the symbol "◎" to express his positive feelings. He also analyzed the cover art of the game.

After a while, he decided that it was time to leave Lively Town and adventure elsewhere, ending his series of tweets with a 5 days countdown leading up to the Japanese release of the game.

Tsubugorou's adventures are told through Twitter, with a series of posts referred to as [Very popular] A collection of tweets by Tsubugorou ◎(UT) - This is an unofficial translation.
