Mega Evolution (Japanese: メガシンカ, Mega Evolution) is a temporary Pokémon transformation in the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series. It made its debut in Nintendo 3DS Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon in 2015.

Pokémon Mega Evolve by Awakening, which can happen by wearing a Looplet in which an Awakening Emera is inserted, or by eating an Empowerment Seed. Upon Mega Evolving, the appearance of the Pokémon changes, and a rainbow-colored symbol briefly appears above its head. The transformation may also change its type and ability. Mega Evolution gives greater strength, such as the ability to destroy walls.

Most Pokémon that able to Mega Evolve can only Mega Evolve into one form; however, Charizard and Mewtwo both have two Mega Evolutions. Another peculiar case of Mega Evolution is that of Kangaskhan, in which the Pokémon that undergoes Mega Evolution isn't Kangaskhan itself, but rather her baby, who changes in appearance and comes out of the pouch to fight.

In Nintendo 3DS Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon, when Mega Evolution is about to run out, the Pokémon temporarily becomes Berserk, a Status Condition in which the Pokémon randomly walks, destroys walls, and attacks other Pokémon without player input.
