In Despair Dungeon: Monokuma's Test (Japanese: 絶望のダンジョン モノクマの試練, Dungeon of Despair: Monokuma's Trial), a Monokumasect appears as a monster. It is a fusion between Tainted Insect and Monokuma.[1]

The Tainted Insect (Japanese: 魔蝕虫) is a recurring boss monster present in the Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer series. It made its debut in 
Mystery Dungeon 2: Shiren the Wanderer in 1995, making it not only one of the Original Monsters, but the first ever Mystery Dungeon boss monster. Its most recent appearance was in 
/
Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer (SP) in 2019.
Related additional monsters include the Tainted Soldier, and the Tainted Queen that first appeared in 
Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer in 2006, and two cameo appearances in the Danganronpa series, the first in 2017, under the name Monokumasect.
