The Tainted Insect (Japanese: 魔蝕虫) is the final boss of Table Mountain in 
Mystery Dungeon 2: Shiren the Wanderer. It appears on floor 30, The Cave Behind The Waterfall. Defeating the Tainted Insect, releasing the Golden Condor and watching the credits constitutes completing the main story of the game, after which bonus dungeons and other features are unlocked.
After defeating the Tainted Insect, the top middlemost wall in the room will collapse when walking next to it, and the first time the above room is entered, there is a glistening web-bound bundle, where the Golden Condor is captive.
Recorded Item Drops
The Tainted Insect will always drop an item on defeat.
