Many of the games documented on the MDFW were only released in Japanese. We need to place the in-game descriptions somewhere, usually an infobox. The in-game description fields of infoboxes are to be strictly 1:1 to how they're presented in-game; It does not matter if they're wrong, misleading, or contain spelling errors. We do not editorialize them.

  • For games with English releases, we have the English and Japanese descriptions tabbed, and for games with Japanese-only releases, we ONLY list the Japanese descriptions.
  • Descriptions from unofficial translations are not our problem or concern.
  • Descriptions or translations from other games are not to be used, as many core aspects of gameplay are changed and may not apply.

The introduction to the article should contain some variation of the in-game description. In many cases, it may end up being a re-wording of the actual in-game description, here, we're free to editorialize them. As the in-game descriptions are often vague, and have formatting/character issues or limits that we don't have to deal with. Feel free to go in-depth as to how an item, monster, mechanic, or whatever functions in gameplay, as that's the entire point of the article.
