This puzzle is easier than it seems at first. The only slightly irritating thing is that you gotta hope the landmine traps will trigger. Right off the bat collect the two herbs ([[Shiren 1/Items/Herbs/Medicinal|Medicinal]] and [[Shiren 1/Items/Herbs/Sight|Sight]]) and eat the herb of sight. Run into the next room and lure all 3 bandits back to the first room. Run straight out of the exit and wait for two bandits to follow you through so your screen looks like this:

* Pick up both {{Shiren1DS|Herb}}s next to {{Shiren1DS|Shiren}} and eat the {{Shiren1DS|Herb of Sight}}. You can now see a {{Shiren1DS|Landmine Trap}} in the room.
* Move upwards into the next room with three {{Shiren1DS|Monster}}s, move two squares forwards into the room so the monsters appear as so.
* Move down back through the hallway with the monsters following until Shiren is 3 squares into the starting room.

* Move diagonally up and to the right onto the landmine trap, with some luck, it'll trigger and defeat two of the monsters. If not, examine Shiren's "Underfoot" and manually trigger the trap.
* Trigger the trap again, or defeat the last monster by attacking. Hold the A and B buttons together to regain Shiren's health.
* Move into the next room and collect the Medicinal Herb there. Go through the top hallway and move 1 square into the next room. Backtrack through the hallway, move one 1 square into the previous room and move diagonally once to the bottom right.

* Attack once to waste a turn, then take a step up onto the trap. If the trap doesn't trigger, only one monster will be attacking Shiren, so examine Shiren's "Underfoot" and manually trigger it.
* Once both monsters are defeated, another will step into view. Manually trigger again to defeat them. As there are no more monsters, move upwards and take the stairs.

Trigger the landmine. It should kill two of the bandits and leave you with 8 hp and one bandit to beat to death. Run through to the next room and heal up by either eating your herb (there is another on the floor in the second room) or using a+b to heal. The next room is a little tougher though, so be careful. What you have to do is lure the radishes into the second room by moving one square into the room. When one appears move diagonally (the radishes can throw herbs at you, and those will really mess you up) and try to trigger the land mine when the room looks like this:

This will leave you with one radish, which you should hopefully be able to kill by stepping on the landmine a second time when it gets into range. Just remember that the radish can rang attack you, so be careful of that.

Single Strike 2 (Japanese: ???) is one of the 50 Fay's Puzzles in Nintendo DS Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer.

Solution

  • Pick up both Herbs next to Shiren and eat the Herb of Sight. You can now see a Landmine Trap in the room.
  • Move upwards into the next room with three Monsters, move two squares forwards into the room so the monsters appear as so.
  • Move down back through the hallway with the monsters following until Shiren is 3 squares into the starting room.
