Solution

Pick up all four Scrolls of Removal.
Throw one at a Gather, a Pythy and a Knifegator to remove all enemies from the floor.
Enter the Stairs!

Things To Be Learned

The Scroll of Removal isn't a scroll to be read like other scrolls. It's thrown at monsters to remove them from the rest of the journey.
