Shiren 1 DS:Fay's Puzzle: Gitans?

Gitans? (Japanese: ???) is one of the 50 Fay's Puzzles in  Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer.

Solution

1. Ignore the Pickpocket and head through the corridor into the next room.
2. Pick up the Switching Staff and the Knockback Staff and lure the Gather back through the corridor.
3. Walk over to the water so that you are parallel with the Stairs.
4. Turn around (without moving) and swing the Knockback Staff at the Gather.
5. Now swing the Switching Staff in the same direction.
6. Turn around (again without moving) and throw the Knockback Staff at the Gather.
7. Head back to the water's edge and throw the Switching Staff at the Gather.
8. Use the Underfoot menu to access the Stairway!

Alternate Solution

1. Ignore the Pickpocket and head through the corridor into the next room
2. Pick up the Switching Staff and the Knockback Staff and lure the Gather back through the corridor.
3. Move Diagonally so the Pickpocket is between you and the Gather. Now move south east, and head to the water.
4. Turn around, and swing the Switching Staff, then swing the Knockback Staff.
5. Throw the Switching Staff at the Gather.
6. Use the Underfoot menu to access the Stairway!
