Great Canyon (Japanese: 大いなる峡谷) is a dungeon in
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Team. It is unlocked after completing Mt. Thunder.
Plot
Main Story
After defeating Zapdos and saving Shiftry, the main player and their partner return back to Pokémon Square, and are informed to go to the Hill of the Ancients, a place where a Xatu rests. This is done in order to understand the events of the recurring natural disasters and the cause of them all. The player and their partner then traverse the levels of Great Canyon and reach a motionless Xatu. The player is then given two options, both of which swing it back into action.
The partner questions Xatu about the Hero's transformation from human to Pokémon. Xatu then tells the player that the natural disasters are seemingly linked with the transformation of the Hero, and simultaneously predicts the destruction of the Pokémon world. Gengar overhears this conversation and decides to head back to Pokémon Square in order to spread false news.

| Part of this page's history has been imported from the PMD Rescue Team Wiki. On September 11, 2019, the Gamepedia Shiren the Wanderer Wiki became the Gamepedia Mystery Dungeon Wiki. As part of the unification project between Fandom and Gamepedia, we absorbed the Rescue Team Wiki and its page histories. Some pages were originally deemed unworthy of being imported and were left behind. We've since imported them with the intent to preserve the edits and history of this community and its contributions, as well as to build upon them. In some cases, these pages have been created again by editors of the MDFW, and the Rescue Team page histories were imported into them at a later date. You can check if this is the case by visiting the page's history.
