Luminous Cave (Japanese: ひかりのどうくつ, Cave of Light) is a location in Game Boy Advance/Nintendo DS Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Team where Pokémon can evolve. It can only be entered after the credits roll. It is entered by going through the hole in the middle of Whiscash Pond. Because of the natural disasters, it had been sealed until the Meteor was destroyed.

Usage

Make sure that the team leader is the only member of the team before entering. If it is not, use the methods in Stand By command. Also make the Pokémon you wish to evolve the team leader. Upon entering the cave, a voice from somewhere asks you if you want to evolve. If yes, it will ask if you need an item to evolve. If the Pokémon is not yet ready for evolution, it will tell you to return later.

Trivia

  • Despite claiming that there's only room for one Pokémon inside, large Pokémon such as Wailord, Rayquaza, and Lugia are able to enter freely.
    • When evolving a Nincada into Ninjask, a Shedinja will be added to the party. After leaving, the player will be unable to re-enter with 2 members in the party.

On September 11, 2019, the Gamepedia Shiren the Wanderer Wiki became the Gamepedia Mystery Dungeon Wiki. As part of the unification project between Fandom and Gamepedia, we absorbed the Rescue Team Wiki and its page histories. Some pages were originally deemed unworthy of being imported and were left behind. We've since imported them with the intent to preserve the edits and history of this community and its contributions, as well as to build upon them. In some cases, these pages have been created again by editors of the MDFW, and the Rescue Team page histories were imported into them at a later date. You can check if this is the case by visiting the page's history.
