Valley of Lament (Japanese: 慟哭の谷) is the eleventh dungeon in  Etrian Mystery Dungeon 2. It is unlocked after reporting the quests Challenge the Legendary Red Dragon!, Defeat the Legendary Yellow Dragon! and Request to Subdue the Legendary Blue Dragon and accepting the quest Defeat the Fourth Dragon!.

Dungeon information

This dungeon has 51 floors, the last floor being that of the boss. The power of the monsters increases from floor 3 and floor 7. The player can build forts up to floor 49 and it is possible to build 8 forts in this dungeon. In this dungeon, items can be Cursed when found on the ground.

From floor 10 to 50, there are no walls in this dungeon. As a result, thrown items can disappear into the empty space between rooms, walls cannot be destroyed to create shortcuts, and flying monsters, Maya Owls, Divine Bees and Vampire Bats, are able to find and fight you wherever you are on the floor.

From floor 16 to 18 and floor 45 to 47, there is lava. This lava inflicts damage to party members and monsters at every turn they are on it. Lava also destroys items that fall on it, which can be dangerous if a Disarm Trap is next to the lava or if a Charging Rhino removes an item from inventory, as unequipped equipment can fall into the lava.
