Etrian 2:Bewitching Dungeon Shop

Bewitching Dungeon Shop (Japanese: 魅惑の迷宮ショップ) is a traveling store that can be found in dungeons in  Etrian Mystery Dungeon 2. It is run by the Dark Merchant. It appears randomly in dungeons and takes the place of an entire room. On the bottom screen map, this room appears in purple. The store contains between 6 to 9 Items that can be purchased. It is possible to sell items by putting them on the floor and talking to the Dark Merchant. It is also possible to Meld Weapons and Shields and to use Sigil Synthesis by talking to the Dark Merchant.

Players have to be careful not to forget to talk to Dark Merchant to pay, as Dark Merchant doesn't ask the player to pay before leaving. If the player retrieves or uses an item from the store and leaves without paying, Dark Merchant sends her Zebratheriums against the player. All monsters in the zone disappear and several Zebratheriums spawn. All spawns in the zone will be Zebratheriums, until the player leaves it. It is then no longer possible to change leaders or use an Ariadne Thread. If the player leaves the area and returns, the Zebratheriums and Dark Merchant will no longer be there, and if the player meets Dark Merchant again, there will be no consequences. Stealing from the Bewitching Dungeon Shop is the only way to find Zebratheriums and is necessary to fill the Monster Tome.

It is possible to fight against the Dark Merchant. She has 894 HP, gives 2,000 EXP, can only use normal attack, and won't appear in the Monster Tome. Defeating her has no consequences, other than it no longer being possible to talk to her to buy or sell items. If the player steals items while Dark Merchant is defeated, Zebratheriums who will still appear and fight against the player.
