Mastersword (Japanese: どうたぬき), also known as the Masakuni sword, later known as the Dotanuki, is a Weapon in the Shiren the Wanderer series. Masterswords are a wider blade Katana, made by a master swordmaker Genba Dotanuki. It made its debut in Mystery Dungeon 2: Shiren the Wanderer(NT) - This name may be officially used elsewhere, but this media hasn't been officially translated. Super Famicom in 1995.

An improved version called the Master X can be obtained in Shiren 1 for the Nintendo DS which later became the Level 6 Dotanuki in Shiren 5, localized as the Fine Dotanuki in Shiren 5 for the PlayStation Vita.
