Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer - Monster of Moonlight Village for Android
is a video game in the Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer series. It was the first Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer series to be released on Android.[1] The game has been delisted from the original marketplace and requires older Android hardware or an emulator to play.
Moonlight Village SP is a top-down view, sprite-based representation of 1700s Japan, set in the titular Moonlight Village. The Moonlight Village uses the same grid-based Dungeon gameplay; however, items can't be used in the village, nor do Characters generally move around of their own volition. The game features the two original dungeons from the Game Boy release of the Moonlight Village Scenario, and lacks many of the other features from the other releases, such as Fay's Puzzles, Wanderer Rescues, or bonus dungeons.
The game is chock-full of leftover data from the Keitai titles and obscure mechanics, making it difficult to tell what's unused content and what's intentional. For example, a significant number of the Monsters in the monster roster are only known to appear if they're summoned by the Schubell Family. The game features many other mechanical changes, such as how N'Dubas replaced Tanukis as the default decoy monsters, despite Tanukis being summonable by the Schubell Family.
The main story dungeon Sacrifice Pass features 3 different difficulties, as the original Game Boy release did. Moonlight Village SP is exceedingly difficult, even by Shiren standards, even on the "easy" difficulty.
