* Using Super Herbs at full health to increase max HP is a gamble. On one hand, Torneko could end up in a losing fight where a Super Herb would have saved you. On the other hand, the increase in Max Health can become quite significant, and, since health regeneration is proportionnal to max HP, make Torneko overall more resilient to damage. It's up to the player to make the right decision, but it can be a good idea to keep 1 or 2 Super Herbs in your inventory for desesperate situations.

The Super Herb (Japanese: 薬草) is a herb in Template:GameTitle. It appears in all dungeons and is the most common herb in the Mysterious Dungeon(UT) - This is an unofficial translation.. It's frequency is lower in the Bonus Dungeon(UT) - This is an unofficial translation., but it is still relatively common. Consuming one Super Herb when Torneko is hurt will recover his HP by 100. Consuming it at full HP will instead increase his max HP by 2. It can also cure the Blinded, Misled and Confused status. Throwing it will deal 100 damage to Ghosts, Horks, Mummies and Shadows. Throwing it at other monsters will deal 0 - 1 damage. Like all Herbs and Seeds, consuming it will refill Torneko's Belly by 5%.

Tips For Use

  • Super Herbs are the strongest healing item in the game and stay relevant in the later floors of dungeons, unlike Herb. Use them to turn fight in your favor and recover major damage such as Bomb Crag and Mine Trap's explosions. When at very low health it's often dangerous to rely on spending turn regenerating health, as roaming monsters have a high chance to ambush Torneko in the meantime. Use Super Herbs to get back him back on his feet immediatly instead.
  • Using Super Herbs as a projectile against monsters that are weak to it is generally not worth it.
  • Using Super Herbs at full health to increase max HP is a gamble. On one hand, Torneko could end up in a losing fight where a Super Herb would have saved him.
