The Haven Scroll (Japanese: 聖域の巻物) is a Scroll in  Torneko's Great Adventure: Mystery Dungeon. This Item is exclusive to the Magic Dungeon where it is rare, and to the More Magic Dungeon where it is extremely rare. Reading it does nothing besides giving a message to the player explaining the use of the item. When this item is on a tile, after spawning naturally or being dropped by Torneko, Monsters will be unable to walk on this tile. They will also fail to attack or use Special Abilities on Torneko at melee range, when he's standing on this tile. Monsters can still fire Projectiles at Torneko, Arrows for Lilypas and fireballs for Dragons. Eye Balls can also still inflict Torneko with Confused since their special ability works at range. If dropped by Torneko once, either intentionally or after walking on a Pitfall Trap, the Repel Scroll will be stuck to the ground and Torneko cannot pick it up again.

Tips For Use

• Repel Scrolls are a very powerful item that should be saved for perilous situations. They trivialize Monster House before Dragons start spawning, and are still useful afterwards, though the player will need a way to deal with Dragons as their fireballs Damage is significant and cannot be reduced outside equipping a Dragon Shield. Getting repeatidly confused by Eye Balls can also make fight last a long time, as Torneko will miss most of his hit, getting rid of them by other means can be a good idea.

• Repel Scrolls can also be used to farm Experience and items on a floor completely safely by walking in place and waiting for roaming monsters to spawn and wander to Torneko. Like all farming strategies it is limited by Torneko's Belly unless he has a Belly Ring equipped.

• Finally dropping a Repel Scroll can ensure winning any fight that isn't against a Dragon. This is an unefficient use of the item but can still save Torneko in a pinch.

• It is possible to notice a scroll is a repel scroll before picking it up, if the player notices a monster avoids walking on a tile in a suspicious manner. If the scroll nature is identified that way, it can be used two times instead of only once, by sprinting on the tile so as not to pick up the scroll and farming on the floor for example, then picking it up for later use.
