The Sandglass Scroll (Japanese: 時の砂の巻物) is a Scroll in  Torneko's Great Adventure: Mystery Dungeon. This Item is exclusive to the More Magic Dungeon where it is relatively rare. On use, this scroll reverses time to the start of the current floor. The current floor will be regenerated exactly how it was when Torneko entered it, including items, Monsters and Traps locations at the exception of the Sandglass Scroll that was used which will not spawn again. All random numbers used by the game to generate random events will also reset to their original value. This means that if Torneko reproduces exactly the same actions he did on his first attempt at beating the floor, every random event will occur in the exact same manner. This includes monster spawns, whether they carry an item or not, what item they carry, whether they miss or hit Torneko and many other random events.

Tips For Use

• Sandglass Scroll gives the player another try at a floor, which is a very powerful effect. It should be used when Torneko's defeat is inevitable, if a mistake jeopardizes the rest of the Adventure or a very unlucky event happened. The floor will be identical, but the player will start with newfound knowledge of where the monsters and useful items are, which gives him a significant advantage over his first attempt. If the player wants to avoid a specific outcome he will need to do different action than on his first run to get different random numbers, otherwise the same event will occur.

• A niche but potentially powerful use of the Sandglass Scroll is to combine its effect with the Chance Scroll. If the player gets one of the less interesting effects of the Chance Scroll such as fully recovering Torneko's HP, Belly and Strength, he can use a Sandglass Scroll to roll for another effect. Again, the player will need to do different actions than on the first run of the floor before using the Chance Scroll to get different random numbers, otherwise the same outcome will occur.
