This Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gold Rescue Team -Challenge the Gold Rank!- page is about the lost, South Korea exclusive, Blue Rescue Team Demo. For Blue Rescue Team for the Nintendo DS, see Pkmn:Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team. For other demos about the Rescue Team games, see Rescue Team:Demos.
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gold Rescue Team -Challenge the Gold Rank!- (Korean: 포켓몬 불가사의 던전 황금 구조대 -너도 골드랭크에 도전하자!-) is a Korean demo of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team that was made available for download on August 11, 2007, for players who registered to a Korean Pokémon Mystery Dungeon website.
The game was played in a single window with a native resolution of 240x160, the same as Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team for the Game Boy Advance. The window is doubled in size to 480x320. It may have contained the full game due to the file size despite not all of it being playable. While retaining some features like recruiting Magnemite and naming the hero and partner, others such as entering in Wonder Mail were removed. The build date was made thirty-nine days after the Korean DS version of the game. It is assumed that the demo might not work without being able to connect to the server, although this is speculation, and it's possible that if the demo were to be found, it could be circumvented. The demo ends the day after meeting with Xatu.
Despite taking the time to change the menus and make the game playable using a keyboard, the dungeon controls menu is exactly the same as the final build.
While the Job List was removed from the menu of the demo but with screenshot proof, it appears jobs were still available in some way.
The demo is a modified port of Blue Rescue Team but lacks the secondary window for stats and information that the final version has.
The demo ends by displaying the message "즐겨 주셔서 감사합니다! 제품 판도 꼭 즐겨주세요!" after meeting Xatu in the Great Canyon, which is approximately the halfway point of the main story. It is way further in the story and longer than the Red & Blue Rescue Team demos.
The demo required an online connection while the final release of the game lacked any online connection whatsoever.
