In Despair Dungeon: Monokuma's Test (Japanese: 絶望のダンジョン モノクマの試練, Dungeon of Despair: Monokuma's Trial), a Monokuma Tank appears as a boss monster. It is a fusion between a Popster Tank and Monokuma.[1]

The Popster Tank (Japanese: オヤジ戦車) Monster Family is a recurring group of four monsters in the Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer series. It made its debut in Mystery Dungeon 2: Shiren the Wanderer in 1995, making it one of the Original Monster Families.

The Popster Tank family is unique because other monster families level up, turning to them.
The Popster Tank has several unique leveling orders.
- Normal: Bowboy (Lv. 1) → Crossbowboy (Lv. 2) → Baby Tank (Lv. 1) → Mini Tank (Lv. 2) → Popster Tank (Lv. 1) → Dadster Tank (Lv. 2) → Oldster Tank (Lv. 3) → Cranky Tank (Lv. 4)
The Cranky Tank is exclusive to the Nintendo DS and Smartphone releases of Shiren 1.
- Normal: Bowboy (Lv. 1) → Crossbowboy (Lv. 2) → Baby Tank (Lv. 1) → Mini Tank (Lv. 2) → Popster Tank (Lv. 1) → Dadster Tank (Lv. 2) → Oldster Tank (Lv. 3) → Cranky Tank (Lv. 4)

The Grizzled Tank became the level 3 monster after Shiren 1 DS. It's used in Magic Castle DS, Shiren 3 Wii, Shiren 4, and Shiren 5. The prior level 3 monster was made the level 4 monster and the Shiren 1 DS/SP level 4 monster hasn't been seen in any other games.

- The Oldster Tank artwork from a Moonlight Village GB source book in 1996 was the first instance of a gray/silver tank. It wouldn't be used in-game until 2008 when Shiren 3 was released on the Wii.
