Quests are special events that include and take place outside of the main storyline. They can only be completed once, unless you erase your data. Many have lasting rewards that you can continue to take advantage of in the long term. Several are key to unlocking Bonus Dungeons. The quests in Shiren the Wanderer DS have been sorted into three categories. Most quests in the game involve interacting with Characters, and unlock new dungeons after clearing them.

Kechi the Masseur
A travelling masseuse has been lying to people that he is blind, but his deceiving ways and way of crippling people he massages has many people out to get him.
My Brother Pekeji (quest)
A man claiming to be Shiren's long lost brother is working as an assistant at the Green Bamboo Town Shops in Bamboo Village. He'll ask to meet you at the bar where he begins asking you questions.
Required for:
- "Bungee Jumping"
- Unlocking the Ravine of the Dead.
Oryu the Blinder
A mysterious woman has been going around luring people in, including Shiren, then blinding them.
Side Quests
The Smith's Apprentice (quest)
The Smith's apprentice in Bamboo Village is aspiring to become a great blacksmith, but is lacking in confidence and self-esteem. Help her get through the apprenticeship and create a valuable friendship!
Gaibara's Pottery
Gaibara the Legendary Potter is working on a masterpiece but is frustrated with the lack of perfection in his test pieces.
Requires: "Naoki and the Cliffs"
Required for:
- Unlocking the Scroll Cave dungeon
- Unlocking the Kitchen God dungeon (partial completion)
Naoki and The Cliffs
Help the owners of the Cliffs find a new chef and save their restaurant.
Requires: "Gaibara's Pottery" (partial completion)
Required for:
- Unlocking the Kitchen God
- Unlocking the Scroll Cave
Bungee Jumping
A strange merchant (Butafooter) has set up a bungee jumping business on Janus Valley. People are concerned about its safety, but Pekeji wants to try it out.
Requires: "My Brother Pekeji"
Required for: Unlocking the Ravine of the Dead.
The Little Lost Girl
(Requisite for unlocking the Ceremonial Cave.)

Location: Ceremonial Cave
Random Events
Girl (Spoiled)
Asks for random items in your pack.
Voices in the Inn
Shiren and Koppa can listen in to a private conversation. Only occurs once for each travel journal.
