This page describes one of the Rescue Passwords for Items that players can use in Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer. It is useful for obtaining a Kabra's Blade, which is found on floor 7.
Curse Trap blocks entrance to room SW of starting room
Herb of Sight (N center room)
Wood Shield (by stairs)
Herb of Sight (room SW of starting room)
no items or traps in dark maze room in SE corner
The stairs are in the north-west room, nearby a Knockback Staff.
Herb of Confusion (North center room)
Katana (dark maze room just W of NE room)
Pickaxe (dark maze room just W of NE room)
Iron Shield +3 (SW room)
The Meat Shop in the south-east corner of the floor sells the following items:
Leech Worm Meat, Field Bandit Meat, Piggy Meat, Field Bandit Meat, Soldier Ant Meat, Pickpocket Meat, Green Slime Meat, Piggy Meat, Mamel Meat.
Melding Jar[3] (starting room, north-east corner)
Stairs are in the south-west room, near a Herb of Confusion, Walrus Jar[5], and 306 Gitan.
Bottom entrance to west center room has a Log Trap.
Herb of Life (east center room)
no items or traps in dark maze room in NW corner
Starting room has the stairs and Staff of Stability[4], as well as an Evil Soldier and a Dark Eye. You can walk to the nearby corridor to defeat them one at a time.
Riceball (dark maze room in SW corner)
Pain Sharing Staff [3] (SE room)
Paralysis Staff[4] (NE room)
[rhaining]: see special note about 5F below
Field Bandit in remote room can destroy items if you're unlucky; try going E first?
Egg Thing in (S center big room); paralyze or hunt if you need food
??? Jar[4] is actually an N'Duba (S center big room)
Kigny Seed (central room)
Scroll of Sleep (central room)
Hint: get the Big Riceball and take the stairs immediately
eastern 2/3rds of floor is empty; items+traps suck; Rotten Trap will bite you if not careful
the only reason to stay is to kill monsters for EXP and random drops
Big Riceball (starting room w/stairs)
Rotten Trap blocks entrance to room W of starting room (can be fatal as food is tight)
(cursed) Crescent Arm -1 (NW room)
(cursed) Pain Sharing Staff[4] (W center room)
Wood Shield (W center room)
??? Herb is actually N'Duba (W center room)
Hint: go N, read scroll, go W, get Kabra's Blade, then exit level to save on food Earth Bless Scroll (NE room)
Kabra's Blade (N room)
Herb of Confusion (N room)
Hint: the first room is quite deadly. Here's how to survive:
Antidote Herb (NW room)
Notes about Monster House w/fallen wanderer (SW room)
Verified both passwords & got both Kabra's Blades. Ran through this rescue 4 times in total. Updated walkthrough with more complete notes. Existing documentation jibed with what I found, except for 5F, which was 100% wrong. (Can a floor change for some players, or differ from rescuee to rescuer? Did the original author get notes crossed with another run? My 5F had only a Kigny Seed and Scroll of Sleep, and that's if the Field Bandit destroys no items. Here are the original 5F notes:
5F: Confusion Scroll (West room)
Sleep Herb (NW Room)
Bitter Herb (E Center room)
Drain Buster (NE Room)
Rustless Armband (NE Room)
Dragonkiller (just W of NE Room)
Shop w/ Earth Bless Scroll (just W of the Dragonkiller)
Everything in this walkthrough verifies for me, except for 5F. I've had to play this three times, using the first code, and 5F was (I think) the same or similar form each time but had nothing in common with either set of notes above. Maybe it's flagged to vary for each person or something?
Also beware: the first time I played this, the Monster House in 8F was a Dragon House. Best strategy I found for dealing with the final MH is to get one foot in the door, back up and paralyze something in the entrance, and then after everything else has left the room use your pickaxe to get around the paralyzed monster. Use an Herb of Sight to avoid traps, grab all the jars in the room and then leave (paralyze another mob in the other doorway if they come back).
Right Under The Knockback Staff I Found A Pitfall Trap, I Missed Out On The Whole Floor.
