In function, the 'Sealed' status also inflicts the effect of the 'silent' status on Shiren'

How to cure

  • If affected though the 'sealed' status, wait 35 turns for the effect to wear off.
  • If affected by reading a Scroll of Silence, move to a different floor via the stairs or by triggering a Pitfall Trap.
  • Be transformed into a Monster by the magic ability of a Skull Wizard with the transform effect.

Trivia

  • Only when affected by a reading a Scroll of Silence causes the 'silent' status to appear in the top menu. When the effects of this status are caused by the 'Sealed' status, this does not appear.
  • The 'Silent' status is included in the effect of the 'Sealed' status, but when Shiren is silenced, they are not sealed. The difference is that Shiren can successfully swing Staves while silenced, but not while sealed.
  • The 'Silent' status is one of the reasons why unidentified Scrolls are recommended to be read at the end of a floor in The Final Puzzle.
  • Despite the description of the 'silent' status stating that 'your mouth disappears', Shiren's mouth is clearly visible when being attacked, and in many other sprites while effected by the 'silent' status.
