The Top Menu (Japanese: トップメニュ, Top Menu) is the first menu the player sees every time / Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Team is launched. The Top Menu opens right after the title screen.

Display

A box displays the features the player can access. When each one of them is hovered over, a description is displayed below.

New Game/Continue: Brings the player to the core of the game, allowing the exploration of dungeon and progressing the story.

Delete Save Data: Start a new game from scratch.

Adventure Log: Shows the player's achievements.

Friend Rescues: Used to access rescue features.

Trade Items: Allows trading items with other players.

Wonder Mail: Brings to a menu where the player can input codes to obtain missions in the game.

Unknown Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team, connect with other players while the game is in sleep mode.

After selecting "Continue" a card detailing the player's progress is shown, including the name the team, the name of the current leader, the location, playtime, the total amount of adventures, helper, and a set of icons that track the player's progress.

Icons

Top menu icons are small pictures that appear on the card of the confirmation screen when certain actions are completed in the game to track the player's progress.

	Celebi	Recruit Celebi in Purity Forest post-credits.
	Lugia	Defeat Lugia in the Silver Trench post-credits.

Background Art

Each time the top menu has loaded the game randomly selects one of 3 different illustrations to display. Pressing L hides the top screen interface, allowing the look at the illustration.
