Articuno (Japanese: フリーザー, Freezer) is a Boss Pokémon Game Boy Advance/Nintendo DS Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Team. It is the boss of Frosty Forest and can be encountered on floor 5 of the Frosty Grotto.

Plot

When the Hero and their Partner enters the Frosty Forest in order to escape from the Pokémon who pursuing them, Articuno sensed the change of the forest and decided to stop them from going farther. Its voice emanates from parts unknown and speaks of the temperature rise and stopping the intruders after the Hero and their Partner reach floor 5 of Frosty Forest.

Upon reaching floor 5 of the Frosty Grotto, Articuno suddenly lands in front of the Hero and their Partner like Moltres did. It introduces itself as the Warder of Ice and blames the Hero for upsetting nature's balance. The partner begs Articuno to let them through, but Articuno doesn't allow it and starts to fight.

After Articuno is defeated, it still refuses to see reason and prepares to attack them again. Absol appears and explains to Articuno that not only Frosty Forest was affected, but the whole Pokémon World. Articuno believes Absol and lets them pass, but makes the partner promise that they'll prevent the natural disasters from continuing before doing so.

After the Hero returns to Pokémon Square upon revealing the truth about the Curse, Articuno will always be on floor 5 of Frosty Grotto and can be fought[Citation needed]. After the credits roll, Articuno can be fought and Recruited. If it's recruited, it'll no longer appear in the Frosty Grotto unless it's dismissed from the team.

For it is to protect the forest…

On September 11, 2019, the Gamepedia Shiren the Wanderer Wiki became the Gamepedia Mystery Dungeon Wiki. As part of the unification project between Fandom and Gamepedia, we absorbed the Rescue Team Wiki and its page histories. Some pages were originally deemed unworthy of being imported and were left behind. We've since imported them with the intent to preserve the edits and history of this community and its contributions, as well as to build upon them. In some cases, these pages have been created again by editors of the MDFW, and the Rescue Team page histories were imported into them at a later date.
