Fullness (Japanese: ???) is a Stat in Nintendo DS Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer. It passively decreases as turns pass inside dungeon floors, forcing Shiren to replenish it regularly.

Fullness is reset to 100/100 at the start of every adventure. On dungeon floors, it decreases by 1 Fullness unit every 10 turns. Special Riceballs have a chance of granting an effect that will make Fullness no longer passively decrease for the current floor. Turns between Fullness units are retained between floors, so if Shiren is at 39 Fullness and is 4 turns away from 38 Fullness when moving to the next floor, then after 4 turns on the new floor, Fullness will decrease to 38.

The Hide Rune, found innate in Hide Shields and Hide Xs, halves the rate of Fullness decreasing, and the Heavy Rune, found innate in Armor Wards and Armor Xs, doubles the rate of Fullness decreasing. Critical Armband, Recovery Armband, Ace's Armband and Revival Armband all double the rate of Fullness decreasing. Berserk Armband quadruples the rate of Fullness decreasing. 4 times as fast as the regular rate is the maximum rate of Fullness decreasing - 1 Fullness unit every 2.5 turns, causing Fullness to decrease by 1 every 2 and 3 turns alternating.

Decreasing Fullness

Fullness is decreased by level 1 and 2 Polygon Spin monsters when Shiren is targeted by their special attacks. Shiren’s Fullness will decrease by 10 and 30 units per special attack respectively. Fullness is also reduced by 10 when a Hunger Trap activates. Fullness can be lowered in the event of Kechi the Masseur pressing the wrong pressure points when giving a massage, both before and after becoming an Adventure Ally. Shiren’s Fullness will be set to 10 when eating either Egg Thing Noodles, Gaze Yakisoba or Roast Walrus from The Cliffs Restaurant to progress the Naoki and The Cliffs side quest.

Low Fullness

At 20 and 10 Fullness units respectively, Shiren will be warned that he is hungry. The messages "You're feeling hungry...", and "You're so hungry, you're getting dizzy." will display. When Fullness reaches 0, Shiren gains Hungry Status, prompting the message "You can't go on!", followed by "Must hurry... and eat something..." and then "You'll starve to death!", causing passive HP regeneration to cease, and for Shiren’s HP to drop by 1 every turn, until his fullness is increased.

The Hungry Status also causes Shiren to be unable to dash, meaning that Shiren cannot dash onto most items if his inventory isn’t full. This means that acquiring Gitan as an item is impossible until Shiren no longer has Hungry Status. It also prevents Shiren from passing turns when the player holds A + B.

Increasing Fullness

Fullness can be recovered by consuming Herbs other than Big Belly Seeds and Little Belly Seeds for 5 Fullness units. Monster Meat grants 10 Fullness units, aside from Hen Monster Meat, which recovers 100 units. Rotten Riceballs and Special Riceballs restore Fullness by 30, Riceballs restore Fullness by 50, Big Riceballs restore Fullness by 100, and Giant Riceballs restore Fullness to its maximum. Using Monster Meat of level 1 and 2 Polygon Spin monsters allows Shiren to restore Fullness by 10 and 30 respectively per special attack targeted at a Monster.

The Scroll of Need restores Fullness to its maximum if Shiren has Hungry Status. Being revived by a Herb of Revival, or Evil Soldier Monster Meat, possessing with Dead Soldier Monster Meat or being rescued restores Fullness to its maximum. Roasted Mamel Tail, either from Naoki the Wandering Chef or The Cliffs, will restore Fullness to its maximum. When the Naoki and The Cliffs side quest is completed, The Cliffs serve 1 of 18 meals once per adventure, all of which restore Fullness to its maximum. Inns will restore Shiren’s Fullness to its maximum at the cost of Gitan.

Maximum Fullness

Decreasing Maximum Fullness

Maximum Fullness is decreased by level 3 and 4 Polygon Spin monsters when Shiren is targeted by their special attacks. Shiren’s maximum Fullness will decrease by 10 units per special attack. It will also decrease by 10 when using Little Belly Seeds. If maximum Fullness is greater than 100, a Seed of Ill Luck will reduce it to 100. Antidrain Armband, Barrier Armband, Clear Armband, Vigilant Armband and Warding Armband prevent maximum Fullness from decreasing. The minimum Fullness is 10.

Increasing Maximum Fullness

Maximum Fullness, as well as Fullness, increases when using all Riceballs other than Rotten Riceballs at maximum Fullness. Special Riceballs increase it by 1, Riceballs increase it by 3, Big Riceballs increase it by 5, and Giant Riceballs increase it by 7, regardless of whether Fullness was at its maximum. Big Belly Seeds increase maximum Fullness by 10. Using Monster Meat of level 3 and 4 Polygon Spin monsters allows Shiren to increase maximum Fullness by 10 per special attack targeted at a monster. Bungee Jumping has a chance to increase maximum Fullness by 5 in the event of a Great Success. Certain meals from The Cliffs grant an increase in maximum Fullness: Gather Stew and Deep Fried Master Chicken increase it by 1. Chintala Curry, Walrus Stir-Fry, Spike Bomb Bowl, and Snaky Stew increase it by 3. Grilled Egg Thing increases it by 5. Rice Baby Riceball increases it by 10. The maximum Fullness is 200.

Effect On Other Entities

Monsters do not have a Fullness Stat, but Pekeji has a Fullness Stat before reaching his maximum Level, which resets every floor, forcing Shiren to throw a Riceball at Pekeji if too many turns are passed on a floor.
