The Mysterious Dungeon (Japanese: 妖しい洞窟) is a dungeon in Template:GameTitle. It is a post-credits dungeon unlocked after you complete the main adventure. It's a 10 floor dungeon that heavily features Monster Houses. Originally released as a downloadable content dungeon in the Japanese release on July 18, 2008.[Citation needed]
Unique Features
The Mysterious Dungeon features a monster house on nearly every one of its 10 floors with increasingly stronger monsters. Items in the dungeon mostly have negative effects and are rarely useful.
Floors 2 - 3, 4, 8, 9, and 10 are all Great Hall monster houses while floors 5 and 7 feature 1 room monster houses. The monster houses on floor 3 and 9 have vertical walls that act as barriers for you to slow down enemies trying to get to you from across the room.
Dungeon Strategy
You're going to need leveled equipment or a lot of luck and skill to clear this dungeon. Dungeon Shops will always appear on the sixth floor so it's worth it to have a Storehouse Jar or Ballistaboy (or similar Monster Meat) to steal from the shop. Pitfall Trap are common as are Eye Salve Herb. So you can easily farm the monster houses for easy items but just as easily have to repeat a dangerous floor multiple times. This dungeon is easy to farm for rare items so whatever you think is worth keeping in your inventory is probably better off left behind if you manage to find a Chiropractic Jar. The monsters in the great hall monster houses never re-spawn so it might be worth your time to bring several Destroyer Scroll or Blank Scroll if you've read the destroyer scroll previously. Popster Tank Family and Dragons are the biggest threats here with their ranged attacks that can ravage your health. It would be a very wise move to have at least 2 - 3 Blessed Revival Herb and life-saving scrolls like Paranoia Scroll for when enemies gang up on you. Another thing you should probably look into is adding [Dragon Slayer] to your sword and Fireproof and Blastproof Fusion to your Shields. None of the enemies here should be underestimated, even the ones that seem weak and don't offer much Experience. A Ghost Radish Family can send you into a rage and cause you to rush monsters and get killed and you won't be able to stop and heal or think your actions through. Approach every monster with caution.
