Shiren 6:Basic Training
Basic Training (Japanese: 基本の特訓), also known as Training Ground (Japanese: 特訓場) in the sub-menu, is a series of tutorials accessed from the Monster Dojo in /
Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island. It was introduced in
version 1.2.0. It is similar to Fay's Puzzles in other games.
Basic Training uses the same menus as the normal Train feature, meaning the player is always revived automatically when fainting, and players can place unlocked Monsters, give themselves any unlocked item, and change Shiren's level at any time. The difference is that each tutorial features a particular room layout, enemies, predetermined level, predetermined stats, and predetermined inventory as a sort of challenge to overcome to learn the basics of the game. However, due to the Train features being available, there are many ways in which the tutorials can be completed. The intended strategy is explained in the menu before selecting the tutorial to play. The game does not keep track of which tutorials have been completed.
