Returning Mechanics in Nintendo Switch/Steam Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island.

Returning Mechanics

The gameplay for this game is based on the earlier games from the series rather than the later releases. The game design is heavily reminiscent of the first game in the series, Super Famicom Mystery Dungeon 2: Shiren the Wanderer, with some mechanics, characters, and monsters returning from Nintendo 64 Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer 2 - Shiren's Castle and the Oni Invasion, as well as the general graphical style being somewhat reminiscent of the latter. During interviews, it was noted that they made sure the majority of the key developers of the first Shiren game returned.[Citation needed]
