Wanderer Rescue (Japanese: 風来救助) is a gameplay mechanic in Nintendo DS Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer 5 - The Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate. If players are Defeated in a Dungeon, they can, in some cases, request a rescue. Whether or not players can request a rescue, or the number of rescues, depends on the dungeon in question, as each dungeon has its own rescue rules. Rescues are shared via local wireless, using 2 Nintendo DS family systems, or passwords. Prior to its shutdown in 2014, players could also request rescues through Wi-Fi.

Shi-Rangers of the Wanderer Rescue Team who embark on a rescue have to clear the same dungeon, with the same rules as the player they're attempting to rescue. They're required to have at least reached the floor the other Shi-Ranger was defeated on, and must clear a monster house and reach Shirens fallen body to complete the rescue. The Shi-Ranger performing the rescue is limited to a set number of attempts, just as the one playing the game is limited to a set number of rescues. However, Shi-Rangers are able to send the password or wireless communications to as many fellow Shi-Rangers as they desire, until they're successfully rescued.
