What happened to Koppa during the timeskip?

At the beginning of  Mystery Dungeon 2: Shiren the Wanderer, Koppa says he met Shiren six months prior.  Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer 2 - Shiren's Castle and the Oni Invasion is a prequel set several years in the past, and it shows Shiren and Koppa already knew each other. In / Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island, Koppa doesn't recognize Asuka, who he met during Shiren 2 and traveled with during  Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer Gaiden - Asuka the Swordswoman, although she does recognize him. In  Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer GB2 - Magic Castle of the Desert, Koppa doesn't recognize MA-MO, who he also met during Shiren 2. Many of the aforementioned games were reproposed, but the dialogue was left unaltered, meaning this was not retconned. What happened to Koppa or his memories of the events prior to the timeskip? In a Famitsu interview on April 27, 2024, Shin'ichiro Tomie expressed interest in telling this story, and commented that he is glad to see people are paying attention.

Is Galwin part of one of the pirate crews?

In / Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island, many pirate crews went to Serpentoil Island for searching for treasure. The game happens shortly before  Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer 4 - The Eye of God and the Devil's Navel, in which you can also meet a pirate named Galwin. Is he a member of one of the crews from the former game or is he from a different crew?
