The Dark Owl (Japanese: ノロージョ) Monster Family is a recurring group of four monsters in the Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer series. It made its debut in  Mystery Dungeon 2: Shiren the Wanderer in 1995, making it one of the Original Monster Families. Its most recent appearance was in / Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island in 2024.

The Dark Owl Family consists of:

1. Dark Owl (Japanese: やみふくろう, Yami Fukurō)
2. Ghost Owl (Japanese: ようまふくろう, Yōma Fukurō)
3. Dusk Owl (Japanese: あんこくふくろう, Anko Fukurō)
4. Chaos Owl (Japanese: こんとんふくろう, Konton Fukurō)

The Dark Owl Family has made a cameo appearance in the Danganronpa series in 2021, under the name Abyssal Monokuma.

Biography

Physical Appearance

They appear as plump brown birds standing on two-toed feet, with small beaks, wide eyes, small feathered tails, white tufts around their neck and on their head and have colored wings that span their whole backside and sides depending on their level.
