Rescue Team:Personality Test
The Personality Test is the player's introduction to 
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Team. Upon creating a new save, the player is given a personality test to determine who the Hero will be. Each question will award the player a set amount of points toward a specific Nature. When finished, answers will be calculated and the hero's Pokémon species will be selected. From there, the Partner's Pokémon species is selected. The partner can not be the same type as the player, which limits the pool of available partners.

Conditions
Each question gives some points of a certain nature. At the end of the test, the marks will be added up. The nature with the most points will decide which Pokémon species the hero is. Some Pokémon can only be selected if the player chooses a specific gender. For instance, Meowth can only be selected if the hero is male, and Eevee can only be selected if the hero is female. In the list below, it is represented by "N/A".
Character Limits
The hero's name is entered when the player first wakes up near the Tiny Woods. The max number of characters in the player's name varies by language. Like any other Pokémon, it can't be renamed.

- The Personality Test originates from Heartbeat's Super Famicom remake of Dragon Quest III, originally developed by Chunsoft, in which the player also takes a personality test at the beginning of the game.[1]
- The question about bungee jumping was later referenced in the titular side quest in
Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer, with a Polygon Doll taking the place of the doll.
